In our logyard, the pine trees are debarked and peeled by
hand with a drawknife to reveal the log's natural character.
Unlike "kit" log homes, every full log retains the
natural taper and character that gives each home its own distinctive
appeal.

Log
homes exhibiting a space between the logs are referred to
as chinked homes. Modern chinked-style homes are made with
foam backer rod and synthetic chinking; these improved materials
now ensure that the structure is airtight for the life of
the home.

Blue
Chip Builder's expertise allows us to provide our customers
with a full-scribe, Scandinavian-style log home. Our experience
is evident in the careful scribe that joins each log to its
partner, and in the solid saddle-notched corners that bring
the walls together. A full-scribed log home creates an elegant
appearance.

Following
the re-assembly of the log home at your building site, our
finish crews take over. With their careful eye for detail,
creativity to visualize all aspects of the log settling system,
and flexibility to incorporate innovative concepts in the
construction, the Blue Chip crews set new standards in the
handcrafted log home market.
